Hike - Week Seven - 13.3 of 1000 = 952.9 miles

Week Seven

  • February 14 = 4.00 miles (map my hike didn't record properly)
    • Highlight = Valentines Day w Jim on Sunrise Mountain



















  • February 15 = 4.66 miles (map my hike still acting strange. Saving the wrong picture and I saw Gateway GPS when I saved it.  Time to reset the app) 
    • Highlight = Sunrise at Gateway - Happy Presidents Day!

  • February 21 = 4.60 miles (map my hike still thinks I hike Lookout overtime)
    • Highlight = Been a long time hiking Shaw. Great workout

    • Highlight - Clear Afternoon in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix open in the distance.

      • Highlight = Hiking with Jim after being on vacation for 2 weeks.

    • Highlight = Peaceful afternoon.

  • February 10 = 4.0 (phone died midway, so no MapMyHike route)
    • Highlight = Packed and no parking....forgot why I don't hike the Peak after work. :)

  • February 13 = 4.78
    • Highlight = Saw a Bob Cat crossing the trail and watched him walk through the desert.  Way Cool!

Hike - Week Three - Hike in Peru - 5.0 of 1000 miles = 979.8

Hike One Trail in another Country - PERU

Check it off!!
While in Peru we visited Huacas de Moche - Huaca de la Luna y Huaca del Sol.

Peru is known for Machu Picchu. I have been to Machu Picchu and Cusco before. On this trip we traveled to Northern Peru to Trujillo.  Trujillo is on the coast located near Huanchaco.

This was the capital city of the Moche people in 100 - 800 AD.  It is an adobe pyramid that was abandoned after floods.Temple of the Moon and Temple of the Sun.

There are not a lot of maintained trails in this area to hike so we decided to go to Huaca de la Luna and hike up the hill to the ruins there and the city that was built out of adobe brinks.

Amazing area to see the ruins.
